February Fun

DAWNBREAKER launches in just a few days! If you pre-order the e-book, you’ll get it at the lower price. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS PRE-ORDERED SO FAR! Pre-orders help authors determine if readers are eager for the book. If I think my pre-order numbers for Dawnbreaker look good, I’ll continue with pre-orders for future books. Otherwise, I don’t think I will. Amazon emails me every couple of days to “make sure my book is uploaded and ready,” and I panic. Yes, the book is uploaded. I’ve previewed it. It’s been good to go for weeks. I’d rather upload once and not have these recurring panic attacks. As a reader, I love pre-orders. So, if you like pre-orders, too, let me know.

Channelling my Viking ancestors.

I went axe throwing! If you’ve never been and you get the chance, you must try. There’s something so satisfying about throwing axes into a panel of wood. You don’t need any athletic ability for this. I went with my geeky gamer family and we all hit the bullseye at least once. When the long handled axe came out, I was the only one to hit the target on my first try. And on my second try. So fun!

In terms of writing, I took a break from Book 3 to work on a few other projects, but I’ll be back to work on Book 3 this week.

Research for Book 3 is happening as well. I’m currently reading The Wonder Smith and His Son by Ella Young, originally published in 1927. I’d like to find more of Young’s work.

The internet said that if you give a dog a Squishmallow, they won’t tear it to shreds like they do other toys.

So we got one for Freya.

She loved it. Absolutely loved it.

Bounced around and tossed it in the air for a few seconds.

Then went to work.

Chewing off its ears.

Tearing its heart out.
