Neil Gaiman put out a story prompt. Did you see it? I missed it. Gaiman even voted for his favourites. Pooh. Sorry to have missed the fun. Here's the prompt:
It wasn't just the murder, he decided. Everything else seemed to have conspired to ruin his day as well. Even the cat.
I think I can work with that.
Last weekend I wrote a story for a contest. I've been wanting to write more short stories, but as soon as I sit down to do it, I come up with zero story ideas and a thousand other things I need to do. But I finally did it and it was fun. So, here's what I'm going to do: Neil Gaiman Short Story Prompts posted here every Friday. I'll give myself the weekend to write, then post the story here on Monday. You are welcome to join me, whether you want to share your story or not.
Word length: I'll be aiming for about 2500 words, but you can set your own word length.
This weekend I'll be working with the prompt above.
