I've finished the first draft of my YA paranormal. I'm deliriously happy. Even if it's full of square brackets needing to be replaced with actual words. Even if it needs to be entirely rewritten scene by scene. I'm not letting that bother me. It needs time to mellow. I need time to play with words and sentences before I go back to it. I need to play with poetry. Then I will begin the second draft and go through each chapter, rewritting until I'm happy.
I'm practicing strength and resilience. I'm putting on my thick skin, sharpening my pencils. I'm learning the ways of the honey badger:
